Putting together a website for your company? Then hopefully you already know the importance of having good web content on your webpage. No webpage will continue to get consistent traffic, no matter how great the product or service is, if the page looks unprofessional or lacks good web content.

When you put together the pages of your site, try using ideas—or IDEAs—that will boost the quality of your page and boost your traffic in the process. IDEA is a simple formula that will help you get the content you need to have a very professional site.

I is for Interesting: When visitors first enter your site, there needs to be something there that ‘grabs’ their attention and keeps them there for enough time to look around—and find what they are looking for. It’s imperative that there be a reason for them to remain there, and for them to continue to come back to your site. Having interesting content is important. A site with boring content is a site with no visitors. Using an engaging, conversational writing style, one that is not too wordy or too dry, will help keep readers on your pages longer.

D is for Dynamic: Change things up a bit now and then. Continue to add new and relevant content and links that are appealing to your visitors. When they return to your site to find something new, this is very reinforcing and will encourage them to return regularly to see what’s next. Daily updates are not usually necessary, but regularly adding new content will not only draw visitors but also result in higher search engine rankings.

E is for Easy: This means that the content should be easy to read, the pages should be easy to navigate, and everything should flow very smoothly. When pages are arranged in a visually pleasing and organized way, they look more professional. Keep graphics clean and sharp. Forget about those flashing graphics that take too long to load. Use regular fonts and use text colors and background colors that don’t make the eyes bleed (translation: text should be plain black, and backgrounds not too busy). Only underline hyperlinks, to avoid any confusion.

A is for Accurate: Any content that you put on your site should be accurate. Skip the junk, nobody wants to wade through it. Make sure that if your topic is ever-changing that you stay up to date. Any links that you have on your site should be regularly checked to make sure they still link to the right places. Keep in mind that accuracy refers not only to the information itself, but also to the mechanics—under no circumstances should there be typographical errors or misspellings on your pages, this is a huge turn off for many readers and instantly makes your site less professional. If you can’t take care of these details yourself, hire a writer to edit your pages.

Using the right IDEA when putting together your website content can make your site more professional. Having interesting, dynamic, easy, and accurate content will help keep visitors on your site longer and keep them coming back for more!

Are you having difficulty getting enough content for your website? When you are looking to hire a writer to put together good web content for your site, your first instinct is probably to try and find someone who is familiar with your specific topic. This is not only somewhat unlikely (especially when you have a site based on a niche topic that is particularly unique), but it is also simply unnecessary in most cases. Most good ghostwriters that you will find are able to take a few keywords, titles, and suggestions and turn them into content—articles, blog posts, reviews, product descriptions, etc.—that can enhance your site by drawing and keeping visitors.

Most people that are looking for good web content writers have niche sites, ones that perhaps have unique or specific topics that only the owner and a small group of others in the same niche can be intimately familiar with. Unique and specific niches are topics such as body detoxification, medical power supplies, bunk beds, meditation, vacuum cleaners, dental tourism, forex trading, hip hop music…and the list goes on and on. For topics such as these, it can be difficult to find a writer that is qualified as an expert.

However, take comfort in knowing that a good writer can develop web content for your site, regardless of topic, based on your expert guidance as a website owner and niche specialist. Hire a writer that is experienced in writing on a wide variety of topics, and provide your net content writer with a solid list of keywords and research leads. This ensures that you will get web content that is relevant, timely, and informative—exactly the kind of web content that will get you the traffic you need to make the money you are dreaming of.

All writing is not created equal. Not only are keywords important for helping your writer come up with good web content, but it’s important to keep in mind that online writing is different from other styles of writing (think manuals, novels, magazines, etc.) because of the nature of the medium. The writing style required for good web content needs to be concise and it needs to keep the attention of a reader who is looking for quick information. Also, very importantly, web content needs to be written in a way that is not only interesting for the human reader but is search engine friendly so that visitors will find it easily.

No person can be an expert in every topic, but a good can take a topic and some keywords and roll out some great content for you. Ghostwriting means taking someone else’s ideas and putting them into words, and having the person use those words as if they were their own. When you hire a writer, be prepared to be specific about your ideas, what you need, and what you are hoping to achieve with your web content. Remember that you are the expert in your topic, and your ghostwriter is the expert in writing. Working together, you can get exactly what you need for your site.
